Midday Supervisor - Whaley Thorns Primary School
6.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday 11:50 – 13:05
Term time only (38 weeks)
Grade 4 Point 3, £10.79 per hour

We are looking to recruit a Midday Supervisor to support our children over lunchtime. This role involves working as part of a Midday team to supervise children throughout their lunch break, leading and
developing safe play activities and helping children in the dining hall.

Early Help Officer
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Term time only
Full-time Equivalent Salary: £21,968 - £22,423 p.a.

The Early Help Officer will provide early help and preventative support for whole families to become resilient and to break the cycle of neglect and deprivation so that their lives are turned around. This will ensure children and young people get the best start in life. The Early Help Officer will co-ordinate and deliver a package of tailored support and interventions to address the problems family members face. They will work with families to give practical hands-on support using a pro-active and challenging approach to enable families to build on strengths and promote family resilience that can sustain outcomes. This will include working closely with local initiatives and agencies to improve family outcomes. The post holder should be prepared to work alone in a comparatively unstructured situation, working in families' homes and have an ability to respond quickly to changing needs and circumstances; this may include travelling to other service areas, and early mornings, evenings.
This role will provide a consistent, reliable and outcome focused support service to a caseload of families who are identified from the Early Help Referral offer. It is important to have experience of working with a wide range of families and have the ability to support and signpost appropriately. The post holder will have experience of working within an educational setting with adults or young people.

Cleaner - Whaley Thorns Primary School

We are looking to appoint a flexible, reliable, enthusiastic and hard-working person to join our cleaning team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness within our school. Working 3pm - 5pm, Monday to Friday, term-time only.
Reporting directly to the Site Manager, the ideal candidate will have knowledge of health and safety procedures and precautions and awareness of COSHH regulations and health and hygiene procedures, training will be provided. We look to appoint staff who are willing to contribute fully to the life of the school and who are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

IT Support Engineer Apprentice (Level 3 Information Communications Technician)
We are looking for a confident and talented individual who wants to be a part of their digital transformation in a busy Multi Academy Trust environment based at their Trust offices in Shirebrook and supporting schools across North East Derbyshire and South Yorkshire.
The successful candidate will be supporting the IT Manager responsible for TEAM Technology, Trust Executive and Central Teams as well as schools across the trust and partners.
A focus on aspects of the IT support service including;
- Supporting staff with day-to-day enquiries on the use of technology
- Supporting an action plan for wider staff and student digital skills development
- Working between the office base and customer sites across the North-East Derbyshire and South Yorkshire
- Taking support calls, logging and resolving faults with remote software management and site visits
- Promoting the use of new and existing technologies such as;
- Microsoft 365 and Google G-suite
- Curriculum software
- Digital recording of audio and video, for instance, green screen video
- Plan, implement and maintain an element of the school’s organisational digital assets
- Supporting the delivery of IT-related projects

Primary Apprentice
32 hours per week, Term time only, £137.60 per week
This role will be based at Stubbin Wood School, Shirebrook.
Duties will include:
- Engage and motivate pupils.
- Improve the quality of pupils’ learning.
- Inspire trust and confidence in pupils and colleagues.
- Build team commitment with colleagues and in the classroom.
- Demonstrate empathy with and an appreciation of the care needs of pupils.
- Establish constructive relationships and use a variety of methods to communicate with parents and other relevant professionals, in liaison with teachers, to support pupils’ learning and progress.
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom.
- Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils to participate and achieve in learning activities.
- Promote independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward its achievement.
- Promote positive values, attitudes and good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policy and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour.
- Respond quickly and appropriately to demands made by individual pupils to meet general care, mobility and personal hygiene needs.
